Project Name: Stuart Highway and Central Arnhem Road Intersection Upgrade

Client: Department of Infrastructure, Planning and Logistics

Location: Stuart Highway and Central Arnhem Road Intersection, NT (approximately 3.5 hour drive from Darwin)

Date: Completed December 2023

Description

The project involved a substantial road improvement endeavor at the intersection, featuring an expansion of the road width, along with batter and shoulder widening extensions. The tasks encompassed diverse activities such as earthworks, subgrade development, pavement layer construction, and the installation of electrical infrastructure to support the newly installed street lighting. Furthermore, the project included seal works, meticulous traffic management, pavement marking, and various other essential components.

Issues/Challenges and how they were resolved

Due to the nature of road widening works, access roads were required to be built and traffic management plans in place to be able to shift traffic as required to accommodate for the works and allow for traffic flow throughout. This allowed for safe works to be executed and safe flow of traffic maintained.

Success of Project

The management of quality assurance and ensuring continuous traffic flow was paramount to the success of the project. D&P Management have received glowing reviews in the management of the project and evident in the Contractor Performance Scorecard (CPS) available upon request.
